The first of these is the product\u00a0<strong>concept design<\/strong>\u00a0stage. The basic foundations are laid and work is carried out taking into account the client&#8217;s specifications. In this way,\u00a0<strong>the materials to be used are defined<\/strong>, as is the concept of the mechanisms by which it is to function, its\u00a0<strong>aesthetics, how the end user will use it<\/strong>&#8230; This is creative work that must not, however, become detached from functionality and client&#8217;s requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The second stage is the industrial or\u00a0<strong>engineering<\/strong>\u00a0design. This work focuses on materialising what has been thought up and decided on in the previous stage:\u00a0<strong>Dimensions and measurements are set, mockups<\/strong>\u00a0and general plans a<strong>re created, and commercial elements, manufacturing processes<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>costs<\/strong>\u00a0are defined.<\/p>\n<p>Both stages must be developed in parallel, so that they can feed each other back. This avoids final designs that exceed the fixed maximum cost or integrated technologies that do not fit in with the devised aesthetics.<\/p>\n<p>This has already been mentioned in the previous post about\u00a0Phase 1: Definition of Objectives. All phases are important, but each one contributes a key value. Just as Phase 1 is crucial for achieving the ideal business plan, Phase 2 is characterised by the establishment of the aesthetic, functional, and technological basis.<\/p>\n<p>It is considered a\u00a0<strong>good design\u00a0<\/strong>when\u00a0<strong>it meets the requirements and the business model<\/strong>, in short, when the client is satisfied. For the\u00a0<strong>concept design, staff with a high degree of creativity<\/strong>\u00a0are needed; on the other hand, for the\u00a0<strong>engineering<\/strong>\u00a0section, a\u00a0<strong>robust technical basis<\/strong>\u00a0is required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Another important agent is the client<\/strong>, whose\u00a0<strong>function<\/strong>\u00a0it is to\u00a0<strong>validate<\/strong>. The client lays down certain markers that must be met to guarantee their approval.
